A FAST FM-154 air handling unit has been installed in Arnhem, the Netherlands, to serve the rooms of the CIOS Fitness Club.

The job, acquired by our local distributor VB Klimaattechniek b.v., results to be interesting from a technical point of view because of the sensible and latent loads of the rooms to be served and the performances required to the unit.

The unit has been designed for a 15.000 m³/h total air flow, 1.500 m³/h of which are recirculated.

On both the air flows (fresh air and exhaust) sound attenuators have been selected to keep the noise level to low values.

The need to reduce energy consumption lead to the choice of rotary wheel to recover energy from the exhaust air flow to the fresh air one.

The unit, conforming to the actual market requests, includes an integrated cooling circuit in heat pump execution able to combine a dynamic energy recovery to the rotary wheel effect. The cooling circuit is provided with 4 scroll compressors; 4 capacity steps are available to adequate the FM-154 performance to the real thermal load of the building.

The electrical panel and the controls complete the unit, thus resulting in a single package with the consequent advantages in terms of lower dimensions and easier installation procedures.

The problems of the typical installations are so by-passed; infact there's no more need to find out and combine on site the right controls, water chillers (or motocondensing units) and the AHU.

Also, the installation of the controls directly in the factory allows the air handling unit to keep the integrity and quality of execution typical of the FM series AHUs with no other intervention on site.
